Getting started couldn’t be easier, no “signing up”, or registering for an account. Simply choose your first pen-pal, open your preferred email client, put their email into the “To” line, and introduce yourself.
Below are step-by-step instructions, but trust me, it couldn’t be easier so don’t be shy and get chatting today!
Step 1️⃣
Look through a list of pen-pals to find one that you might be interested in striking up a conversation with. Each have their own unique stories, histories, personalities, and styles of interacting with you. You can have conversations with as many as you want in parallel, so feel free to introduce yourself to more than one at the same time.
Step 2️⃣
Open a new email in your preferred email client and enter the email address for your pen-pal, add a subject line of your choice, and send an email to them to talk about anything you want. You can ask them about their lives, their experiences, and their expertise. But be prepared because these new friends want to get to know you as much as you want to get to know them!
Step 3️⃣
Once your pen-pal responds, just reply back and carry on the conversation. As you learn more about them and they learn more about you, the conversation can go anywhere. No need to save the emails, you can pick up conversations where you left off, anytime. Some personas are specialized at certain subject matter over others to consider this during your conversations but we’ll think you’ll find them all knowledgeable about subject matter of all types.
Final Considerations and Terms of Use 🤔
This particular Large Language Model (LLM) or Natural Language Processor (NLP) has not been updated on current event’s past 2021 so consider this in your conversations. That being said the goal of this project is that the conversations you have will be referenceable in future conversations so the things you teach your pen-pal or otherwise discuss, should carry forward.
AI of this nature is new, although amazing in it’s own right it has its pitfalls and should not be considered an absolute truth. Always fact check the things you learn or discuss, and don’t take the information you are provided at face value unless it makes sense to you, the user.
Keep it E for everyone, NLP’s have their own moderation end points that uses an algorithm to assess the messages individual words and context before passing it along. We can appreciate that at this time some conversations points or topics could be off limits but please be understanding that public accessibility to NLP technology is new and a lot of the moral/ethical conversations on these topics are happening as we speak. These are of course for entertainment purposes but to the second point, NLP’s and LLM’s are incredibly powerful tools that have the potential to reshape the way we learn, work, and otherwise interact with the world. It’s like if Google could talk to you and if you’ve been paying attention Bing already can, so although the responses will always strive to be correct and well thought unless instructed otherwise, but much like a Google search, sometimes what you get isn’t what your looking for. Use your best judgment and take the information for what it is and fact check as a person should do already.
We believe in a cloud first approach to service delivery and our services hinge on the up-time of Open-AI’s models. Although generally speaking our Karma Engine is NLP Agnostic, we are only currently implementing a connection with OpenAI’s Davinci 3.5 model and downgrading the service to lesser models would provide a lower quality experience…something we at FQE are not willing to do to our participants. So at times, there could be delays, outages, or failures. All we ask is you be patient while we address the problem.
Lastly….HAVE FUN! We hope you enjoy the conversations we’ll know you’ll have, they will always be unique, and are truly an experience that can’t be replicated by anyone else in the world having similar conversations with these same pen-pals. Your connection, interests, and story are unique to you and only you. We respect your privacy, your conversations are your own, we only interact with the databases from a maintenance and break-fix scenarios, and even then, takes place with absolute discretion. Further, email is purges on a regular basis as the general communications are preserved through your interaction history.
The chats and stories generated by our pen-pals are covered by our general Fuzzy Qube Entertainment™️ so they cannot be used to re-distribute for profit as are the pictures of our pen-pals which are further covered by our Mid-Journey license. That being said, if you have a special use case or experiment in mind where you would require ownership of the resulting conversations we are open to discussion on a case-by-case basis.
